Course Information

This course will train the participant with the knowledge and skills required to provide first aid in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment.

It includes the recognition and provision of an initial response where first aid is required and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements..

This unit applies to any ESI worker who may need to work in or around electrical equipment.

Specific licensing requirements may relate to this competency, including requirements for refresher training. Information should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority or the Electrical Safety Regulator in your state or Teritory.

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete both the theoretical and practical assessment components of this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

  • UETDRMP010 - Provide first aid in an ESI environment

This course is delivered by Mixed mode and requires the following:

  • Completion of pre-course online learning which takes approximately 3-4 hours
  • Completion of face to face practical assessment which takes approximately 4 hours
  • Course enrolment is 90 days - You have a maximum of 90 days to complete both the online and the practical components of this course.
  • All assessments are submitted via our online learning portal.
  • All learning material for this unit is provided via our online learning portal.
  • All equipment is provided for the practical assessments.

Prerequisites: HLTAID009 Provide first aid

Learner Requirements

You will require access to a computer or laptop and an internet connection to complete this course.

You must also be able to use a web browser(such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge) and have your own valid email address. Shared emails addresses are not permitted, if you do not have your own email we suggest you create a Gmail address here

A learner undertaking this course will require a specific skill level in Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy.

The course has been assessed as requiring the following Australian Core Skills Framework levels:

  • Learning - Level 1
  • Reading - Level 2
  • Writing - Level 2
  • Oral Communication - Level 2
  • Numeracy - Level 0
