Often referred to as a Food Safety Supervisor certificate, this course provides the knowledge and training required to handle food safely according to Australian food safety standards. You will learn to manage safe food handling during storage, preparation, display, service, and disposal. This qualification is essential for supervisors in the hospitality industry and covers following predetermined procedures outlined in a food safety program.
This training builds your confidence and equips you to supervise food handling practices according to an organisation's individual food safety program.

- Contents of organisation's food safety programs, including procedures, requirements, and monitoring documents

- Operating procedures for temperature probes
- Selecting and applying cleaning, sanitising, and pest control equipment and materials (following manufacturer's advice)

Award Issued
Students who successfully complete both the theoretical and practical assessment components of this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

Course Delivery
This course is delivered 100% online and requires the following:
- Online Learning Module: Approximately 4-6 hours to complete.
- Practical Assessment: Approximately 2-3 hours. (Note: your practical assessment requires a commercial kitchen environment and food safety supervisor to sign off on your activities. Activities will need to be videoed and submitted via our portal)
- Course Enrolment Window: 90 days. You have a maximum of 90 days to complete both online and practical components.
- Assessments: Submitted through our online learning portal.
- Learning Materials: Provided via our online learning portal.
- Equipment: You will need to ensure you have access to the required equipment for your practical assessment.
- Student Handbook: Read the 1SDO Training Student Handbook.

To complete this course, you will need:
- A computer or laptop with internet access.
- A web browser (like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).
- A valid personal email address (shared addresses are not allowed).

- A webcam or phone with video/audio facilities
- Access to a commercial kitchen environment and a temperature probe.
- A food safety supervisor or a qualified chef to sign off on your workplace activities.
LLND Assessment
All Registered Training Organisations are required, as a mandatory part of your enrolment process, to assess your language, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy (LLND) skills.
We administer these tests online to verify if you have the necessary skills to complete this course. If you successfully complete these tests, you will be automatically allowed to complete your enrolment and pay for your course.
