Course Information

This course covers the requirements for Non-Emergency Patient Transport Officers (NEPTs) who transport patients between healthcare facilities. In Victoria, NEPTs may also partner with Ambulance Attendants (Diploma qualified) to respond to non-urgent 000 calls for Ambulance Victoria, providing first aid and emergency responses in pre-hospital/out-of-hospital settings.

This training builds your confidence and equips you with the skills to manage emergencies and provide immediate patient care.

The Australian Resusitation Council advises that you should update your first aid every 3 year to maintain currency, they also advise that the CPR and advanced resuscitation components of this course be updated every 12 months.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining the flexibility of online learning with hands-on practical training:

  • Online Learning:
    • Self-paced modules can take up to 12 months to complete, depending on your individual study commitment.
    • All learning materials are provided through our online learning portal.
  • Face-to-Face Practical Assessments:
    • Two mandatory two-day practical assessment sessions are required.
    • Sessions are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 5pm, on alternate months.
    • All equipment is provided for the assessments.
