Course Delivery:

This course is delivered Fully Online and has some Practical Activities delivered online with your trainer by video chat.

  • Online Learning Modules: these can take up to 6 months to complete, depending on your individual study commitment.
  • Practical Assessment Sessions are delivered online with your trainer by video chat.
  • Course Enrolment Window: 6 months. You have a maximum of 6 months to complete both online and practical components.
  • Assessments: Submitted through our online learning portal.
  • Learning Materials: Provided via our online learning portal.
  • Equipment: Provided for all practical assessments.
  • Student Handbook: Read the 1SDO Training Student Handbook.

Prerequisite Units:

  • You will be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment as part of your enrolment process
  • There are no additional prerequisite units

Learner Requirements

To complete this course, you will need:

  • A computer or laptop with internet access.
  • A web browser (like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).
  • A valid personal email address (shared addresses are not allowed). If you don't have one, consider creating a free Gmail account here.
  • Access to:
    • A digital camera or phone with camera facilities
    • A webcam or phone with video/audio facilities

All Registered Training Organisations are required, as a mandatory part of your enrolment process, to assess your language, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy (LLND) skills.

We administer these tests online to verify if you have the necessary skills to complete this course. If you successfully complete these tests, you will be automatically allowed to complete your enrolment and pay for your course.

If your LLND level does not meet the requirements for the course, we will contact you to discuss the steps forward depending on the level assessed. This may include additional pre-learning material or a referral to a specialist LLND service.
